Do I have a story to tell......
Steve and I have lived in Iredell County most of our married lives, in fact we bought a log home and acreage in West Iredell and moved here in 1985. Steve had said that he never wanted to live in town and most definitely not in a condo. But things changed and in 2017 when we decided that we needed to downsize, so we sold our home of over 30 years, had a two day auction and moved to Magnolia Glen. Yes, we have been residences of Magnolia Glen for over a year.
Being both country folks, we thought that it might take a while to get settled into our new home. But Steve and I agree that it has been a most wonderful experience. We don’t feel like we live “in town” but more like in a small development with great neighbors including the squirrels and rabbits. It’s “a safe and quite location where you can be comfortable walking the dog, riding your bike, letting the grandkids play in the park, or enjoying iced tea on the porch,” says one of the residence.
Steve loves sitting at the kitchen table having a drink, while the lawn is being mowed. No more having to mow that 3 plus acre lawn! And our new surroundings are always well maintained!
Magnolia Glen is in northwest Statesville, across the street from: opthamologist, snack bar, barber, dry cleaners and pharmacy and it is only a short distance to downtown, or as Steve says “only 5 minutes to everything” including medical facilities, the YMCA, restaurants, shopping and churches.
If you stroll through the neighborhood you will find single family detached homes and traditional condo townhomes. It’s a small neighborhood currently with 31 homes. Plans are to have 52 homes.
In keeping with the traditional style set by the existing homes Magnolia Glen continue to be high end, affordable homes of brick, stone, and Hardie Board designed for accessibility, comfort, energy efficiency and ease of maintenance. "Magnolia Glen continue to be a community of 55 years old and up….people nearing or at retirement or retired. Houses that are currently being built are: Two and three bedrooms with 1500-2300 Sq. Ft on one floor, with a second story that can be finished or used for storage. HOA membership includes, lawn and landscape maintenance, irrigation, street lights, master insurance coverage, annual termite inspection and street maintenance. Our new model home is now under construction!
In addition to living here, our office is conveniently located here in Magnolia Glen at the corner of The Glen Street and Bunch Drive.
